Install it, point it at a folder, and start.
SoloWork is in pre-launch. The build below is real and usable, and it updates itself once installed. Make an account first for seven days of Pro with no card.
SmartScreen will say it doesn’t recognise the publisher.
The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen. Choose More info, then Run anyway. We’d rather tell you now than have you find out mid-install and assume the worst. Code signing is on the list before general release.
What happens on first run
Anywhere you like — Documents, a synced drive, an external disk. That folder becomes your workspace and holds the database and every file.
Your email and password activate the licence and claim a seat for this computer. After that the app works offline.
Your rate, your hours, your target. Enough to seed the capacity calculator and the business plan. Skippable.
Add the client you're working for now, or raise the invoice you owe someone. The empty screens fill themselves after that.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
~400 MB free disk, more as you go
No internet needed after activation
Updates, backups and getting out
It updates itself
New versions are published to the releases page and the app installs them when you restart. Nothing touches your workspace folder.
Backups are your own
Copy the workspace folder. That's the whole backup. Point it at a synced drive if you want it done for you — the app doesn't care where the folder lives.
Leaving is a folder copy
Uninstalling removes the app, not your data. Invoices stay PDFs, notes stay markdown, the database stays a standard SQLite file anything can read.
