Getting around

Getting anywhere fast

The search bar at the top, and the sentences you can type into it.

The search bar finds everything

The bar at the top of the window, on every screen. Start typing and it searches your clients, projects, invoices and notes, alongside every command and every page.

It is almost always faster than the sidebar once you know the name of the thing you want. Ctrl K puts the cursor in it without reaching for the mouse.

Log time you forgot to track

Type a sentence like "log 2h yesterday" or "log 90m Tuesday drawings" and it offers to record it.

It is deliberately cautious — if it is not certain about the duration or the day it offers nothing rather than guessing, because a command that quietly books ninety minutes to the wrong day is worse than one that does not appear.

Worth knowing

This did not work at all before version 0.1.16 — the offer was worked out once when the panel opened, before you had typed anything, so it never appeared. If you tried it and nothing happened, it was not you. Update and try again.

Where Settings is

At the bottom of the sidebar, in the menu behind your name. Settings holds your business details, your rates, your tax set-aside, your automations and your licence — the things that are about you rather than about a particular job.

It used to have its own row in the sidebar as well, which meant two controls a few pixels apart doing the same thing. The row went in version 0.1.16. The search bar still finds Settings by name, like any other section.
